A Small Business with Big Ideas

My name is Sam Robinson, and I am the owner and operator of Esker Designs. I first developed an interest in programming when my wife tore her ACL during our first winter in Vermont. Prior to this injury, our time spent together had always been outside, and during this time, we both had to learn to slow down and find ways to enjoy life in our 350 square foot apartment. Over the course of the next nine months, I began to wake up at 5 AM, teaching myself to code and diving in further each and every day. From the moment I began, I knew that this was something I would continue to learn for the rest of my life.

What I came to realize is through my learning is that a lot of small businesses can't afford to pay thousands of dollars upfront a website, and that they also don't have the time or desire to manage their own site via Wix, Squarespace, or any other page-builder site. I also learned that simple, functional sites built with semantic HTML and CSS will outperform page-builders every time, and that it eliminates the possibily of breaking your layout, or doing things that would adversly impact your site speed, SEO, and other important factors that influence your site, and consequently, your business success.

That is when I decided to start Esker Designs - A small business design firm meant for small businesses.
